Vancouver Sun

The Vancouver Sun and The Province, the two major daily papers in British Columbia, are published by Pacific Newspaper Group Inc., a Canwest company. We employ the largest newsrooms in western Canada committed to providing our readers with the highest standard in contextual, analytical and explanatory journalism.

The Vancouver Sun has been a daily newspaper since 1912 and, publishes daily except Sundays and selected holidays. Through our award winning journalism, we provide the latest news shaping our city, our country and the world. In addition to the print edition, our newly redesigned website vancouversun.com offers the most up-to-date source of local news as it breaks throughout the day. The site also features extras such as videos, podcasts, expanded photo galleries, blogs, and online classifieds.

We are dedicated to supporting and strengthening our community through our involvement in various initiatives such as The Vancouver Sun Run – an annual event attracting over 50,000 runners descending upon the downtown core of Vancouver in April. We are proud to be involved in the Canwest Raise-a-Reader program which The Vancouver Sun actually started in 1997 and now is a national charitable program designed to increase awareness and raise funds for family and children’s literacy programs for local communities. The Vancouver Sun is also an official media sponsor of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.
