Canwest Broadcasting operates one conventional television network in Canada, Global Television, and 19 of Canada’s most popular specialty channels, including HGTV, Mystery TV, National Geographic Channel, Showcase, History and TVtropolis. Beyond the airwaves and cable TV, we’ve launched an extensive lineup of full episode programs online of fan favourite shows. In addition to online videostreaming, Canwest became the first Canadian broadcaster to offer U.S. prime-time first-run shows via Video on Demand (VOD) and now have four dedicated VOD channels.
Conventional Networks
Canwest’s conventional television station Global Television reaches almost 100% of English-speaking Canadians. Global Television offers a programming mix of entertainment programs, news and sports aimed primarily at viewers aged 18 to 49.
