In the Community

At the heart of our company are our core values, one of which is Give Back to the Community. We believe in supporting projects that create opportunity and improve the quality of life of those living in the communities in which Canwest operates.

Canwest's philanthropic and community mandate is to support, through direct funding and in-kind support, the arts, particularly the performing arts, literacy, communication, journalism, and media studies, and the United Way, across Canada and in our international operations. Everyday, Canwest and our operations touch the lives of hundreds of thousands of people in our communities.

"A Caring Company"

Canwest is designated "A Caring Company" by the Canadian Centre for Philanthropy's Imagine program. The company appropriates a minimum of 1% of all pre-tax profits for cash donations to non-profit organization and projects that strengthen and enhance local communities. In addition, in-kind donations of commercial television airtime and advertising space take the company's contributions to a level well in excess of Imagine's guidelines.
